Kieser is tiptop and has friendly instructors (although they do want to push you into their premium multi-year memberships a bit too hard) and I like the location im general. Prices are also reasonable considering what you get. Three things I'd like to criticize: The air con is quite weak in summer which makes workouts an unpleasantly sweltering experience. The second has to do with the way Kieser advertises itself: They start with goals and a promise to follow up with periodic strength measurements and an individual focus on your health. Maybe it's because I am don't pay for the highest membership tier but having gone there for over a year now, none of the staff has ever come back to me on those issues. So that's a bit misleading. Moreover, their workout programme is not a replacement for physiotherapy or other accompanying measures in a lot of cases. Moreover the staff is not trained to appropriately and helpfully react to events like a light injury which happened to me on one of their machines. Staff member's reaction was a bit like 'I don't know'. Turns out the weight advised by Kieser was too much and I would have needed physiotherapy first instead of Kieser in that area of my body. Still a good place to work out but the advertising is a bit misleading on how knowledgeable the staff actually is.
It's not a typical gym—the focus here is clearly on training according to their specific system. They offer only machines, with no free weights or cardio. Depending on your goals, their approach may or may not be for you, so it’s worth checking in advance. Personally, I find it great as a supplement to my other workouts, and it also helps prevent back issues from sitting too much. It won’t turn you into Ronnie Coleman, obviously, but it’s a solid, evidence-based system for strength training.
Kieser Training is generally excellent. But really bad placement of the watches at this particular location. Shows bad alignment with overall strategy of company. Instructors are friendly, competent and courteous.
Lack of cardio machines and free weights. During the first visit I was charged for a body measurement test that got everything wrong apart my actual weight. Staff was helpful admitting there might be something wrong with the body measurement device. I was utterly disappointed. Strongly recommend never to visit unless you are only interested in using machines for weight training.
The back muscle training at Kieser has freed my back from pain. The training instructors are always available to assist, to give tips and advice and to correct.
