Our Take

In a nutshell

Zürich's most curated independent premium gym — Altstadt location, full spa access, towel service, and Molton Brown amenities at a boutique scale.

Our verdict

Choose this if you want Zürich's most refined premium gym experience — the price transparency is the one gap in an otherwise transparent offer.

Members Say

72 reviews · 4.31 ★
Overall vibe

Indigo has a loyal, high-spending member base that values the boutique scale and service quality over volume. The relocation to the new site generated a sharp wave of negative reviews at opening (January 2023), primarily around the smaller footprint and changing rooms, but sentiment has steadily recovered as members adjusted to the new space.

Consistently praised
  • Spa, sauna and shower amenities consistently praised as premium quality
  • Spacious, well-lit training floor with modern equipment selection
  • Staff described as friendly, competent and genuinely present on the floor
Watch out for
  • Ask about class schedule and equipment range before signing — some gaps flagged versus larger chains
  • Peak-hour crowding noted given compact footprint at the current location
  • Check locker room size on a tour — flagged as undersized by some members

  • you need a pool or large free-weights area

Number 1 gym in Zürich!!! This place has everything to offer: good equipment (especially for calisthenics, also a boxing bag), friendly staff, clean spaces, sauna, cold plunge etc. But truly the most precious thing is the people! Every person is interesting, open minded and social, making it an amazing atmosphere to train and to chat. Big shoutout to Ervin, Jasmina, Andrea, Arianna and all the rest of the team for taking utter care of the space :D

Best gym in town, but… Indigo Fitness aims to be a premium gym. The concepts are promising, but the execution is sometimes a bit disappointing. The restrooms, for example, seem to have been built by unprofessionals, with silicone joints and wall paints that are unsuitable for sanitary areas, creating a somewhat grimy impression. The artwork on display tries to give an artsy vibe, but unfortunately, it feels random and lacks cohesion. The choice of furniture is rather cold and seems conceptless. The red staircase leading to the upper area doesn’t fit the typical Indigo aesthetic, as known from the old Indigo Zurich or the current Indigo Basel. The red color of the staircase is reminiscent of a popular basement group gym in Zurich, which Indigo initially tried to merge with when moving into the premises—but that didn’t work out. Plus, the saucers don’t match the coffee cups. This and other minor things could be added to the list I am compiling here. I know these are just details, but attention to such details is exactly what defines a premium experience. However, not everything is a downside: the equipment is well-maintained (though repairs tend to take quite a while), even if it’s not the latest generation (why not partner with a fitness equipment provider?). The free-training section in the basement is fantastic. The staff is friendly, and the towel service works really well. Another positive is the inclusion of Molton Brown products as part of the service. The option to enjoy a coffee there or rent a locker makes it a gym with offerings that few places in Zurich provide. The spaces have been enhanced with a beautiful lighting system, which elevates the otherwise somewhat dark facility. I believe in the Indigo team and am curious to see how it will develop - there's room for many improvements.

Good somewhat industrial atmosphere, equipment is well maintained, they offer towels and have a sauna. I don't understand the hate towards the coffee shop. They are somewhat slow sometimes but the food and drinks are great.

Thank you very much for everything, I would like to say this gym is the best one so far I have been. The staff, interior, machines, what you provide as a complimentary, they are all amazing. Literally, you guys thought about every single detail to provide the best service for the clients. I appreciate it a lot, will definitely come back and recommend as much as people I know who comes to Zurich

I’ve been a member for over a year, and overall, it’s a great gym. There’s a solid variety of equipment to suit all types of training, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained. While the locker room showers can get a bit messy by the end of the day, it’s a minor issue. The gym does get busier during peak hours—mornings and after work—but it’s never overcrowded, and I can always find space to train. I really appreciate that they limit the number of memberships, which helps avoid the chaos you see in some other gyms. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, which makes a big difference.
