Pilates Reformer with Kristin - the best Pilates course ever! One hour of entire body workout - everyone can manage. When you’re finished though, your posture is all straight, your chest is open, you feel that every single muscle in your body had worked. You feel elevated and full of endorphins. And on the next days you feel that all the core and deep muscles have done a good job!
GYYM in Basel is an excellent place to work out. The atmosphere is genuinely friendly, the classes are top-quality, and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. The training space is bright and spacious, with plenty of well-maintained machines and equipment, so you never feel crowded. One big plus for expats is that the staff speak English very well and create a welcoming environment for people from all backgrounds. Overall, it’s a fantastic gym where you always feel comfortable and motivated. Highly recommended!
The gym itself is very good overall. Great equipment, good atmosphere, and generally a solid place to train. But there is one huge dark side that ruins the experience every time: the guy with the moustache at the reception. He never smiles, never shows the slightest bit of friendliness, and talking to him feels like he’s doing you a favour just by acknowledging you. It honestly looks like he’s in pain being at his job. Maybe he is a manager, I don’t remember, but the impact is terrible. A bit of warmth goes a long way in a public environment, and this person is the complete opposite. In the past years he is easily the most unwelcoming staff member I’ve encountered in Switzerland. Just looking at him drains your energy. If I were the management, I would have a very serious talk with him, because I’m not the only one who feels this way. Many colleagues at the gym have said the same. The gym is cool, but this issue really needs to be addressed urgently. Otherwise I would not recommend to my close friends and people I care. Here is the corrected and tightened version: And yes, this is also a place to discuss and point out areas for improvement so people know what to expect. If I had known I would have to deal with an unpleasant staff member every time I went to the gym, I would spend my money elsewhere and encourage others to do the same.
Hari aum! Marcel, the physiotherapist and personal fitness trainer at GYYM Basel, is truly an exceptional person. His deep knowledge and vast experience come together in a rare and powerful way. He helped me clearly understand the subtle yet transformative difference between stretching and fine stretching. All thumbs up for him. My best wishes always. — Jagdish Bramta & Rajshree Bramta
I have been a member since 8 years but recently the quality of my experience at the Gyym has dropped. - The reception is often understaffed or not staffed at all for longer periods - Many machines are broken - Gyym members don't return their weights or reserve machines with their towels without training there. And the staff doesn't seem to bother I hope you guys can fix this go back to the quality you used to have
